As a member or prospective member of The CORE, you are invited to send one decision-maker to strategic planning sessions March 5-14 that will shape the direction for The CORE -- Meridian's exciting research and health care industry cluster attracting major new businesses along a 3-mile corridor straddling I-84.

Sessions will be held March 5-6, and March 12-14.

Idaho State University Institute of Rural Health Receives National Institute of Mental Health Grant

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Institute of Rural Health has received a $22,500 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to serve as the agency’s Outreach Partner for Idaho.

ISU-IRH has served as the NIMH Outreach Partner for Idaho for 15 years and was selected this month for another round of funding. ISU-IRH is one of the state partners as well as representatives from District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Idaho State Board Vice President Edmunds to Speak At ISU Faculty Seminar on Jan. 20

POCATELLO – Kenneth Edmunds, vice president of the Idaho State Board of Education, will deliver the presentation “Role of State Board of Education in Idaho’s Economic Development” from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in Room B-3G of the ISU Oboler Library.

Edmunds’ talk will also be broadcast to Room 104 of the Center for Higher Education at University Place in Idaho Falls, Room 509 at the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center and to rooms to be announced at Boise State University and at the University of Idaho in Moscow.

ISU Professor Phil Cole Invited To Consult International Atomic Energy Agency On New Nuclear Accelerator Research

POCATELLO – Last April, Idaho State University Associate Professor of physics Phil Cole and his research colleagues at ISU were able to detect radioactivity from Japan’s Fukushima Nuclear Reactor in dust particles collected in Southeast Idaho.

Nov. 9, 2011 Idaho State University and International Isotopes Inc. announce the completion of an agreement in principle for the production of Copper-67 for experimental use in cancer treatment.

International Isotopes Inc., a leading manufacturer of nuclear medicine products, has completed an agreement in principle with Idaho State University to jointly develop processes for the production of Copper-67.

BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY TO OFFER NEW DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN BIOMOLECULAR SCIENCES

Boise State University today announced the formation of a new interdisciplinary doctoral program in biomolecular sciences that is research intensive and will prepare graduates to satisfy the needs of a growing biotechnology and medical community in a 21st-century world.

The Idaho State Board of Education on Thursday approved the program that will begin in August 2012 and initially enroll eight students but will grow to about 30 in three years.
