Gov. Otter Touts IGEM at Idaho State University Research and Innovation in Science and Engineering Building

POCATELLO – Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter touted the benefits of his proposed new $5 million IGEM, Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission, at the Idaho State University Research and Innovation in Science and Engineering (RISE) Complex on Wednesday.

Otter said IGEM's mission is to create new enterprises and high-paying, knowledge-based economy jobs by increasing strategic areas of research and development through targeted partnerships among industry, higher education and government that leverage new and existing resources.

Idaho State University Institute of Rural Health Receives National Institute of Mental Health Grant

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Institute of Rural Health has received a $22,500 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to serve as the agency’s Outreach Partner for Idaho.

ISU-IRH has served as the NIMH Outreach Partner for Idaho for 15 years and was selected this month for another round of funding. ISU-IRH is one of the state partners as well as representatives from District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Idaho State Board Vice President Edmunds to Speak At ISU Faculty Seminar on Jan. 20

POCATELLO – Kenneth Edmunds, vice president of the Idaho State Board of Education, will deliver the presentation “Role of State Board of Education in Idaho’s Economic Development” from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in Room B-3G of the ISU Oboler Library.

Edmunds’ talk will also be broadcast to Room 104 of the Center for Higher Education at University Place in Idaho Falls, Room 509 at the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center and to rooms to be announced at Boise State University and at the University of Idaho in Moscow.
