POCATELLO – Idaho’s economy is on the rise according Idaho State University economics Professor Scott Benson who has contributed to two reports documenting this trend, which project a 3.4 percent increase in personal income and a 4.5 percent rise in state general fund revenues in fiscal year 2013

POCATELLO – Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter touted the benefits of his proposed new $5 million IGEM, Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission, at the Idaho State University Research and Innovation in Science and Engineering (RISE) Complex on Wednesday.

Otter said IGEM's mission is to create new enterprises and high-paying, knowledge-based economy jobs by increasing strategic areas of research and development through targeted partnerships among industry, higher education and government that leverage new and existing resources.

Heavy snows in Boise prevented Otter from traveling to Idaho State University research facilities in the former Ballard Building on Alvin Ricken Drive, where reporters and guests gathered for the unveiling and tour.

MERIDIAN, Idaho – Leaders of The CORE – a non-profit organization formed to promote a health and research industry cluster straddling I-84 in Meridian – today announced the launch of a new source of potential funding for business development and its CORE Capital program to contribute to economic development throughout Idaho.  The fund will do business as the Treasure Valley Angel fund, LLC (the “fund”).
