An emergency training workshop called SimFest will be offered Saturday, June 11, in Meridian. The training allows emergency medical providers and others to practice with "human patient simulation," training mannequins that have human-like responses. Among the scenarios participants will prepare for are mass casualty events, newborn infant care, traumas and hazardous materials. SimFest sponsors include Air St. Luke's and the Idaho Simulation Network.

This is the third SimFest and the first in the Treasure Valley, according to Tammye Erdmann, coordinator for the Air St. Luke's human-patient simulation program.

Training takes place at the Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School, 1780 E. Heritage Park Lane in Meridian. 10:00 – 4:00
