Leadership
The CORE is a 501c(6) non-profit organization that is administered by a group of volunteer industry leaders. The current Board of Directors provides guidance and governance for the operations of The CORE and is participating in many of the day-to-day activities.
Much of the future work of The CORE will be administered by the Board of Directors, as it has the largest vested interest in growing the community and determining the direction of our future efforts. The Board of Directors meets on a monthly basis and has outlined a strategic plan for 2011 that will demonstrate clear benefits to our members today, tomorrow and into the future.

Earl Sullivan
Mr. Sullivan serves as CEO at Conex Med Pro Systems, a leader in healthcare communication. Prior to this position he acted as consultant to a variety of industries including Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Real Estate, Social Media, and Food/Beverage. His expertise provides professional management to high growth companies. Prior to his consulting he served at RxElite/Landela as CEO from 2009 to 2010 and as COO from 2007 to 2009. Previous roles include SVP and EVP of Operations from 2002 on. Mr. Sullivan brings over 10 years of operations experience and has a track record for success in outsourcing partnerships, operational system development and developing early growth companies into mature platforms. Mr. Sullivan started his career in operations working in West Africa and the Middle East on various assignments. Mr. Sullivan is an active member in Vistage as well as participating on several boards for entrepreneurial and non-profit ventures.
Mayor Tammy de Weerd
Mayor Tammy de Weerd, a third-generation Idahoan, has served as the Mayor of Meridian since January 2004. She has lived in Meridian and been an active community volunteer for nearly two decades, serving citizens in both voluntary and elected capacities, including a full term on the Meridian City Council. She has also served on a number of regional boards and commissions and chaired the Community Planning Association of SW Idaho. She is a strong advocate for regional solutions on a number of issues that challenge our valley, including transportation, economic development, drug prevention, air quality, and others. Her regional and state involvements include the Treasure Valley Air Quality Council, Treasure Valley Partnership, Blueprint for Good Growth, Urban Land Institute, Boise Valley Economic Partnership, Association of Idaho Cities, and many more. Recognizing the city’s greatest asset, the talents of its people, she works along with the leaders of business, education, youth, and the faith community. Tammy has been repeatedly recognized for her leadership roles and for making a difference in the community. Her vision and coalition-building skills reflect her commitment to active partnerships between government and the private sector.
Bill Canon
Bill Canon is currently the Strategic Advisor to the President/CEO of PKG User Interface Solutions located in Meridian, Idaho. Bill earned a degree in electronics engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona, where he later spent 10 years as a customer service engineer for a leading national computer maintenance organization. Bill went on to earn his MBA from Boise State University, joining PKG in 1996. Bill’s expertise and extensive experience in the user interface industry, most recently as the COO of PKG, include design engineering, program and project management, and technical applications sales support. This vast technical experience, combined with keen business savvy, makes Bill an effective problem solver and is key to the success of PKG and its partners. A self-described soccer dad, Bill’s favorite activities are spent with his family in the great Idaho outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and dirt-biking.
John Francis
John J. Francis is the VP and General Manager of MWI’s Specialty Resources Group, a business development division. Recent acquisitions include Securos Orthopedics, exclusive to veterinary medicine with offices in Sturbridge, MA and Tuttlingen, Germany, Tri V Services, a specialty distributor in the areas of ophthalmics and emergency and AAHA MARKETLink, a member benefit for the American Animal Hospital Association. Current business development focuses include 1) an online pharmacy home delivery service for the pet owner clients of veterinarians and 2) technology solutions to inventory management. John and his family have lived in Idaho since 1990; he holds a BS in Animal Husbandry from Michigan State University and an MS in Animal Science from the University of Illinois.
Kathy Moore
Kathy D. Moore, MBA, FACHE, is St. Luke’s VP of Ancillary Services and Site Administrator for St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center. Moore joined St. Luke’s in 2011 after serving as the Chief Executive Officer from 2006 – 2010 of West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho, an affiliated facility of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Prior to returning to her native Idaho from Thornton, Colo., Moore was the chief operating officer and chief staffing officer at HCA’s North Suburban Medical Center from 2003 to 2006. Before joining the Colorado hospital, Moore worked at West Valley for seven years. She held the associate administrator title from 1996 to 1999, also working as the director of project development and managed care. Moore then led the Caldwell hospital as chief operating officer from 1999 to 2003.Moore began her health care career as the senior vice president and chief financial officer with Primary Health, Inc., Boise, from 1993 to 1996. Prior to working in the health care field, Moore held accounting posts as a senior associate with a Boise accounting firm and worked as a general ledger accountant for Micron Technology, Inc., Boise.
Moore earned a bachelor of business administration as an accounting major, summa cum laude, from Boise State University, where she was recognized as a BSU 1991 Top Ten Scholar. She went on to earn a master of business administration from Northwest Nazarene University where she was honored as an NNU outstanding MBA student. Moore has also been honored as an Idaho Society of CPAs 1991 outstanding graduate and was awarded the ACHE Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award in 2003. Moore is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and was elected the incoming Chairman of the Idaho Hospital Association in 2009.

Moore has been married for 31 years and has two children.
Dennis Baker
Dennis M Baker graduated from Brigham Young University in 1959 with B.S. in Political Science. From '60 - '64 Dennis worked for the Boise Cascade Corporation. In 1964, Dennis changed career paths and worked as a regional stock broker for Schwabacher and Co. until 1970. In May of 1970, Dennis started his own businessas Dennis M. Baker and Associates which he currently runs today. He has many residential and commercial development projects with an emphasis on mixed-use projects. As a hobby, he also owns and operates two landscape companies which grow and maintain approximately 30,000 trees. These trees and other landscape features are the signature component in all of his real estate projects.
Bessie Katsilometes
Dr. Bessie Katsilometes is Dean of Academic Programs for the ISU Meridian Health Science Center. Designated by the Carnegie Foundation as having a Research University-High classification, ISU has more than 20 undergraduate and graduate programs of study offering associate, bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees and post-doctoral residencies at its Meridian site. In addition, faculty and staff members and students engage in research and service, and three clinics – counseling, family dentistry, and speech and language- are available to the public at the Meridian site. Katsilometes has been an higher education administrator for twenty-five years and received the 2008 ISU Distinguished Service Award. In 2009, she was selected as one of Idaho Business Review’s Idaho Women of the Year, and has previously been recognized by the National Association of Women in Chambers of Commerce with an Athena Award for outstanding community business leadership. Katsilometes attained a bachelor’s degree in sociology/social work and a master’s degree in public administration from ISU, and a Ph.D. in Transformative Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Robin Dodson
Dr. Robin Dodson is student services director at the L.S. Skaggs Pharmacy Complex, located at the Idaho State University-Meridian Health Science Center. During Dodson’s lengthy career at ISU, he has served as a researcher and full professor in the College of Pharmacy; special assistant to ISU President Arthur C. Vailas and advisor to the dean of academic programs at ISU-Meridian. Dodson, a former chief academic officer for the Idaho State Board of Education, has served on various boards, commissions, and community and legislative task forces involved with health care and the health professions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from ISU and a doctorate in pharmacology from Washington State University.

Brian Ballard
Brian Ballard is a partner at Hawley Troxell, chairs the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, and focuses his practice on commercial transactional work. His interests and projects include shopping center and apartment complex development, planned community development, EB-5 Visa regional center formation and financing, renewable energy projects (most recently wind and dairy anaerobic digesters), transit centers, sales tax anticipation revenue financing, and infrastructure district financing.
