THE CORE is in Meridian, Idaho, located at the center of the Treasure Valley along the I-84 corridor. The 1,800-acre development spans North-South from Fairview to Overland and East-West from Cloverdale to Locust Grove. ISU is remodeling 182,000 square feet of new campus space in Meridian where 25 health profession programs will make their home in 2009. This will create dynamic environments supportive of entrepreneurs, health professionals and students.

An outstanding physical infrastructure already exists in THE CORE; fiber systems, new roads, three miles of frontage along Interstate 84, as well as two freeway exits. Powerful intellectual infrastructure is also in place: in addition to technology and health care advancements already under way in THE CORE, Idaho State University is THE CORE’s education anchor.

Idaho State University’s Meridian Health Science Center is a partnership of the administration of Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter; the Idaho Legislature; the City of Meridian; Meridian Joint School District #2; donors of Idaho State University; and the family of American retail food and drug icon Sam Skaggs, of Idaho.

Idaho State University will share its new Meridian campus with Renaissance High School, a magnet school for students interested in pursuing an education in health sciences.

THE CORE is 10 minutes from the Boise Airport with direct flight access to and from 14 urban centers: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis and Chicago.
